This saddle bag is defined by its Sumak weave. Instead of passing the coloured yarn straight across the warp, the weaver wraps it around groups of warps, creating a dense, slightly raised surface with a braided appearance.

The technique is especially well suited to bags. It produces clear geometric pattern while giving the textile enough body for travel and everyday use.
