A Yekta runner is built in layers. The weaver first creates a flatwoven ground, then knots pile into selected parts of the design so the motifs rise above the surface.

Along a runner, that contrast becomes a repeating tactile line. Raised diamonds, borders or small geometric devices interrupt the flatter field, changing in appearance as light moves down the rug. The long proportions make the technical construction easier to see because each transition returns again and again.

Made in Afghanistan, it sits between a kilim and a pile rug without belonging fully to either. That in-between quality is the point: one textile holding two distinct ways of weaving.
