Afghan Chobi rugs are hand-knotted in northern Afghanistan, where the tradition has been passed through families for generations.

The wool is spun by hand using methods that retain more of its natural lanolin. This gives the pile its smooth feel and the slight sheen that appears as light moves across the surface. Tight, even knotting creates a low pile, keeping the pattern clear while helping the rug wear well through regular use.
