Limited Edition Vintage Turkish Kilim Pocket Hanging

This wall hanging gives an older Turkish kilim a new, practical form. Sections of vintage flatweave are arranged as pockets, preserving the original geometry while turning the textile into useful storage.

The kilim surface was created without pile, with coloured wefts forming the design directly across the warp. That is why the motifs remain crisp even after the textile is cut and reworked. Stitched edges, hanging loops and tasselled details complete the piece, while variations in wear belong to the earlier life of the fabric.

Hung in an entry, study or bedroom, the pockets can hold mail, notebooks, scarves or small everyday objects. Each one is different because the kilim it began with was different.
